Personal Consulting (how to) - Protect: photos, media and Digital files 1 Day
This provides you with the knowledge to plan and process your digital objects such as photos, media, and digital files into your personal digital archive to keep your precious memories and records.
1 Day - 2 sessions: 1 x 3 hour and 1 x 5hr sessions. this is consultation dedicated to your needs: to keep the precious memories and records safe.
Includes: SSD SD card, and software suite.
Session 1: Setting the Foundations
How to prepare: gathering and assessing computers and other devices and storage sources.
This will include a check of the storage sources and viability of accessing your digital objects to ensure that device failure is not evident.
Assessing existing file collections(file directories, sub directories and files) and type of digital objects such as photos, media, and digital files.
Learn how to create an guide to light the way: this will be based using my archival expertise help you understand what is important and meaningful to you so you can protect and keep your photos, media and records safe and easy to find and enjoy.
Session 2: practice putting foundations into action.
We will select a storage device to practice what you have learnt: I will provide a SSD SD card for you to keep and we will consolidate your files as per your appraisal guide.
We will begin the set up a personal digital archive structure as per your guide. This will be complete once by you over time from what you have learnt.
We will practice applying the guidelines you set to preserving a collection of photos, media and records that are precious to you.
I will show you how to take Description notes so you can create description entries for the finding aide to help you be able to locate precious photos, media and records at ease.
We will start the creation of the finding aide by adding in an entry from the descriptions notes and entry create so you can complete this as you continue to curate and preserve your precious photos, media and records later on.
I will show you how to Preserve your precious photos, media and records by installing and showing you how to use these tools precious photos, media and records. As well as setup up maintenance schedules to maintain your personal digital archive and back ups.

You will receive the PDA preservation software along with the 2 storage SSD SD cards containing your PDA.
